Dept. of Streets & Sanitation's shady hiring practices outed

For the last few years, hiring practices in Chicago city government have been monitored by a federal court. Earlier this month, Mayor Daley received a court-mandated report on the status of hiring reforms. In it, the City of Chicago's hiring-compliance department accused the Dept. of Streets and Sanitation of negligence in the way it awards coveted snow-removal assignments to truck drivers.
